OLS30 Details

Many thanks to all who played along with the OLS30 August Art Challenge. We hope you had fun and will play along again with our OLS31 Challenge coming up September 1st. Ardyth will be hosting, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Today's post will highlight some of the Design Team's favorite details from the August entries. On one-layer cards, it's all about those little details that elevate simple to spectacular. There was some gorgeous art shared this month, so please take time to check out all of it on this post. Also, remember if you're highlighted on a Details post, you are invited to include this badge on your blog!

Let's get to the good stuff!

Susan's Details

Bonnie added pretty, soft speckles, and her subtle debossed border perfectly puts her fruit in a basket, so to speak.

Shery caught my eye with her one-layer collage that leaves no room for white space but perfectly nails balance and harmony through color and perfect image placement.

Jasleen used a clear Wink of Stella pen to blend her watercolors...brilliant! Her gray shadowing here makes the colors pop beautifully as well.

Karen's Details

Deepti stamped this wonderful silhouette against what looks like a fire, red sunset...so pretty.

Marilyn created a beautiful 'art' card with flowing colors and a great artsy look.

Annie's mermaid looks wonderful done in these great green and blue tones.

Ardyth's Details

Foley's Friend's use of a stencil and bright colours captures the look and feel of modern art!

Buffy's clever technique creates artistic-feeling colour and texture!

Heather's Details

Debbie has created colourful splashes that appear to have just hit the canvas!

Jane made a visual impact with white against a bright colour.

  1. Thank you so much for the shout out! This was the first time I've played this challenge and I'll definitely be back! I really like that there is plenty of time to think about and work on a project :-)

  2. I'm confused! The last card you've shown is mine, but you've listed it as Marilyn's - her card is further up the page!

    1. Jane, thanks for letting us know of the error! Sometimes, it gets confusing linking everything up. We are so sorry that you didn't get full credit from the start for your awesome card. I've corrected the link and name.
